Before for my present job, I was a restaurant manager. My wife was also. While she says "Never again!", I have never said that. This might be an omen of things to come. And for those who don't get it, my last name is Zelazoski. Since that was too complicated for some, it was shortened to "Zelly" by my friends. Funny what you come across sometimes. It would be really scary if my first was Steve.

What a day!!!
After a week or so of going back and forth with my Chicago "friends", today was the day that settled the argument.......For now. My Packers are going to the Super Bowl. I give the credit to "Packerman". For 13 years he has stood proudly every time the Bears and the Packers play. He hasn't always come through, but he did today. That's all that matters.

A couple more before the great freeze hits us
Here's a couple more shots from the other day. Man, it was a great day for shooting. Most the recent posts were from our recent snow day and all within 1-2 hour time period. I think I fired off about 150 shots and out of that I've culled and kept about a dozen. Trust me, that's an incredible "keeper" ratio. Sometimes you can shoot 300 shots and keep maybe 1 or 2. Ah, the miracle of digital. One of the shots, tonight, is kind of an anomaly. This tree and grassy area seemed to have a force field around it. The shot was taken just before I headed home. Snow was still falling everywhere....but on that little area, nothing.

Peek A Boo
The snow we got Monday was pretty neat. It was a 12 hour type of snow that just kept on falling. Unfortunately, it turned to rain and caused alot of people to smash their vehicles. I was not one of them, so I am happy. And I'm not one of those guys who snaps pics of accidents, so you are spared. Trust me, there are alot of guys out there who live for that. It was a nice day to grab shots of horses out in the fields. There are few things in this world more beautiful than big majestic horses grazing, or playing, while out in the snow. I didn't get any playing pics, but I got some grazing ones.

Stare Down
This could have went on forever. She didn't want to move. She kind of looked like my daughter when I tell her to clean her room. Just a blank stare.

Hideaway II
This shot is another "cabin"? I found along a small lake in the area. Not so much a cabin as much as a hut. It was a nice enough shot, but when I opened the picture and really started looking at it I decided play around with it to give a little more "interest" to it. I decided to give it an old fashioned photo look and then I added some painterly effects to it. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea when I play with a shot, but I definitely like this version more than the original.

Hideaway
Today, back to winter. Found a nice little cabin tucked away in the woods. With the sun coming up and light snow on the ground it was a nice little scene.

From the vault
Revisited the vault this morning and picked out a nice shot a flower from our garden that I took a couple of years ago. Figured it was fitting on this sunny, very cold day.

If a tree falls in the forest, does anyone........
Thankfully, this one has a happy ending, but, for a moment there, I thought I was about to capture something pretty,....,well,....scary. I came across some county workers going to work on a tree. A big tree. The picture only shows 2 guys but there was actually 5 guys there watching the one guy do the cutting. There's a joke in there somewhere. 4 of the guys evidently got cold and went and sat in their trucks. The first pic shows one of them(probably the supervisor) watching the lumberjack. Notice where he is standing. I didn't think he could be so foolish and as it turned out he wasn't. By time the tree hit the ground, they were both safely on the other side. The little movie below was a whole bunch of shots put together showing the power of a falling tree. And even though you don't hear it in the video, you do hear a LOUD boom in real life..
